Since the mid nineties, one venue in Hanley has been the number one live music venue in Staffordshire. With its big club nights and knack of bringing in big bands, it’s no wonder it was awarded Midlands Best Small Venue by the music bible - The NME a few years back.
The who-who of bands that have played there include: Coldplay, Kaiser Chiefs, The 1975, The Courteeners, The Libertines, Bring Me The Horizon, Lethal Bizzle, Stereophonics, Shed Seven, Biffy Clyro and Muse. I could go on forever with this list but you get my point.
Legendary Electric Fridays with DJ Eddie Kerr always pull in a big crowd. After lockdown, these club nights and The Move dance nights they house will be back bigger than ever.
Stoke-on-Trent has always had a footprint on the national music scenes and part of that is testament to The Mill for their ability to book who they do.
With fellow venue, The Underground just down the road, we have seen some great local bands and artists perform. All The Young and Agent Blue are part of The Sugarmill’s fibre and both had some success after playing there.
